FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE: Redmond Oregon Water Tower Celebrated as Industrial Art Piece

Redmond, OR, USA –

June 14, 2009 – Painter-photographer ALXSw has published a fine art photobook of the water tower east of Hwy. 97.
Alexis West (ALXSw is the artist’s trade name) presents thirty favorite images of the tower, taken at different times of
day and weather to capture the nuance of hue and tones of the turquoise structure.

West, who admits a fascination with industrial sites, oxidation, and the subtleties of paint, states that the tower is quietly
remarkable if you take time to walk around it and observe. “It’s a three dimensional color field painting and it changes
with the weather like a mood ring.” The images are presented with minimal editing, the difference in hue being an effect
of the differences in quality of light.

West is a painter and photographer who also works as an emergency federal employee for fire incidents. West’s painting
is currently represented by Bend Independent Contemporary Art, (BICA) Bend, OR. West will be an exhibitor in the
December 2009 Biennale del’ Arte Contemporanea in Florence, Italy, and at Agora Gallery in New York in 2010. She
has donated a painting for the Oregon150 Auction this August.

The photobook can be reviewed and purchased online at: www.blurb.com under the title “ALXSw: The Water Tower Series”. (http://www.blurb.com/books/721011) Signed editions are available by contacting: www.alxsw.com. Signed editions will
also be offered at BICA Gallery, Bend, OR.

“I really hope they don’t change the tower, “ West stated. “ It’s perfect just the way it is.”
